Woo Hoo!   One year!   Cee's has been in business for 1 year!

To celebrate our anniversary we have an announcement:
AS you may know, Cee's has a line of Organic dog treats - Woof Treats.  We make up to 14 different flavors of artisan dog treats.  Well, something amazing has happened!  Woof Treats have been scouted by Whole Foods Markets!  We are poised to become a retail brand!  It is so exciting to think that 4 of our products may hit retail shelves soon.  This opportunity is amazing!  We will still be producing and selling our full line of artisan organic baked goods at markets.  So stay tuned to the page for updates!

We will be launching a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo this month and your support is vital to our campaign.  Updates and highlights will be posted as they happen.

Thank You all for your support.  We hope you will stick around for the next phase of our business.

What are you doing for Mom this year?  Try something different. Many people will take Mom out for a meal in a fancy restaurant.  What about a picnic?  It can be a lot if fun to enjoy a lovely day in the park.  The kids don't get bored, there is fresh air, no reservations needed, and great photo ops!
Or maybe plant a tree in Mom's honor. A tree is a great living memorial, and will provide shade, fruit, beauty and oxygen for generations to come.
Think about a great new way to celebrate Mom!  Share with u

Tea Breads

I make tea breads, lots of them! Many people will look at the ingredient list and ask "where's the tea?" or, "is it made with tea?"  Tea breads are not made with tea, the name is from England where they are often served at teatime.  Here in the US, they are often called quick breads. I love them.  They are great with my morning coffee, a quick snack or light dessert.  They hold well in the fridge and freeze wonderfully.  For a fancy snack, try spreading a little cream cheese on the slices and serve with iced tea for a delightful summer snack.

It's Grilling Season

As the weather turns warm, grill are being cleaned and prepped for Grilling Season!  We have fantastic Focaccia rolls and Burger buns for all your grill creations.  This is a picture of one of our Herb Rolls with a turkey burger patty.  One of our favorite condiments is a sweet red onion relish.  Here is the recipe:
2 red onions, sliced thin
1 T butter
1t dried thyme
1T balsamic vinegar
1T brown sugar
cook onions and thyme in butter over med/low heat for 20-30 min until onions begin to brown. Take your time, it will allow the natural sugars to develop. Add the brown sugar & balsamic, cook 10 min until liquid is absorbed.  Cool and serve as a topping for your favorite burger.

Hooray for Grilling Season!

More reasons to eat Organic

Why eat Organic?

It just tastes better! Recently we catered an event and purchased some fruit for a fruit platter from the standard grocery store rather than an organic market.  The fruits were ripe and fresh.  However, they did not taste the same as the lovely fruits we get from our farmer friends.  The strawberries were big and bright, deep red, but inside was pale and they did not have that signature sweet/tart strawberry flavor.  The purple plums were absolutely beautiful! But they tasted like water.

Organic fruit has such a full flavor.  It is picked when ripe, not picked early and forced to ripen with gasses or radiation, so they actually develop flavor.

For me, Organic is the only way to go!

Rainy Days

What are rainy days good for?   Recipe testing!   Just took our chocolate scone recipe for a test run.   Results:  Yummy!  SO good, my taste testers had to have a second one!   Fair Trade organic cocoa gives it a deep chocolaty flavor and dark brown color.  Look for them on the menu the Weekend before Valentine's Day!  Get your early, they will be a sell-out!

Why eat Organic Pt 1

1/6/2013

Many people ask me "why should I eat organic?"  There are lots of great reasons.  I am going to share some of thosve reasons in the next few blog posts.

One really great reason to eat organic foods is that it is better for the planet to eat organic.  Organic farming prevents millions of pounds of toxins from leaching into the groundwater.  Organic farming does not use chemical fertilizers or pesticides.  When used, they will go into the soil and ultimately into the water.  This can take a long time and last a long time too.  This inforgraphic shows how pesticide contamination from farming can occur:

50% of our drinking water comes from groundwater.  It is important that we keep our groundwater sources clean for the next generation.

Eating organic helps keep our water pure. Remember when you eat organic, you are preventing poisons from contaminating the soil and the water.  You are saving the planet.  :)
